Low Maturity Organisations

Senior management and central services behave as if the customer-facing staff exist to support them. Project staff are the least empowered people. They are unable to plan or execute projects effectively or efficiently because all significant decisions are regarded as the prerogative of management.

High Maturity Organisations

Senior management and central services recognise the health of the organisation, and their own jobs, are dependent on the efficiency and effectiveness of those in customer-facing positions. The efforts of everyone in the organisation are directed to helping front-line staff achieve planned goals. Managers direct strategy, facilitate, provide resources, remove obstacles and monitor progress to ensure work stays on course.
